Chelsy Mitchell is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and photographer with a passion for analog media. She received both her Master and Bachelors of Arts in Media Studies from The New School. Combining time-tested film formats and a sensuous dream-like aesthetic, Chelsy's work inspires a unique feeling of contemporary nostalgia. This past summer her short film 'Perversion', co-directed with Rebecca Louise Tiernan, premiered at the Straight8 screening at Cannes Film Festival 2017. Most recently, 'If I Could Be Your Girl,' a music video she directed for ACES premiered on NOWNESS.

SUB ROSA has just been announced as 1 of 100 international contemporary works long-listed in the Aesthetica Art Prize, 2018. It will be published in the Aesthetica Anthology 2018. SUB ROSA is a 3 channel video installation created during her time in the Rabbit Island Residency program 2016.
